Our History

Our vision is born from an important heritage.

In 1974, the Bertè-Cordini family took over one of Oltrepò Pavese’s most historical wineries…

Cantine Francesco Montagna, founded in 1895. The Bertè-Cordini family members, Natale, Mariella and Antonio, began a new chapter in the company but decided to keep the original name as a tribute to the founder.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Personality and Tradition

As time went on, family members Luca, Marzia and Matteo joined the company applying their knowledge they acquired during their studies and work experience.

The company carries out a detailed oenological process from the wine growing to the winemaking in order to bring out the best quality while staying true to the natural characteristic of the grape.

OUR TERRITORY

In the heart of Oltrepò Pavese

The family owns 15 hectares of vineyards located in the towns of Montù Beccaria and Zenevredo. The altitudes of each vineyard vary from 150 m asl to 280 m asl.

The soil is mainly composed of marl with a good mixture of clay and limestone. The age of the vineyards vary from vines that were recently planted to vines that are 50 years old.

The main varietals cultivated are the local and most characteristic of the Oltrepò Pavese such as: Pinot Nero, Croatina, Ughetta, Uva Rara and Moscato. International varietals are also grown such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon.

OUR WINES

Primo Fiore

The “Primo Fiore” line is composed of wines – all very easy-drinking and noted for their crisp character – and spumanti wines which are made using the Martinotti Method.

The main cultivated varieties are those characteristic of Oltrepò: Pinot Nero, Croatina, Barbera, Ughetta, Uva Rara, Moscato but also international varieties such as ChardonnaySauvignon.

OUR WINES
